A culinary day was organized in Saguramo, at the Day Center for Children and Persons
with Disabilities “Yaloni”. Our service users are getting ready for this day especially, as
they have the opportunity to overcome culinary challenges and demonstrate their
abilities. Cooking is not just the process of preparing a dish, it is a kind of therapy that
has a positive effect on a person’s mental health and contributes to the development of
social-emotional skills such as: a sense of responsibility, maintaining cleanliness,
cooperation, planning and making choices, and sharing – distributing to others.
Culinary activities increase the self-confidence and self-esteem of the service users of the
center. While preparing a meal, they are completing a certain task, contributing to the life
of the center, and feeling that they are important.
