The first Day Care Center, which offered individual, needs-based services to children with disabilities and helped strengthen their families, was established by the Education Development and Employment Center in Kutaisi in December 2008. In 2009, Day Care Centers were opened in Terjola and Samtredia, and in 2017, the service delivery area was expanded and the Day Care Center for children and adults in East Georgia – village It was created in Saguramo.
EDEC’s ongoing interest is in creating needs-based services in municipalities that do not yet provide access to services for children and individuals with disabilities. Accordingly, from December 2022, within the framework of the current program, support was obtained for the opening of two new centers that will provide services to 30 disabled children and 30 persons in Baghdadi Municipality.
