On July 14, 2022, the Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), in parallel with the ongoing construction works of the Inclusive Center in Baghdati municipality, symbolically threw a “capsule” into the foundation of the building with the guests and sent an emotional letter and wishes to the future.
Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC), with the financial support of the international organization “Brot für die Welt”, implements the project “Social Inclusion Center in Baghdati Municipality New Perspectives for People with Disabilities in Rural Georgia”. Within the framework of the project, construction works of the Social Inclusion Center are being carried out, which will provide services to 30 disabled children aged 6 to 18 living in Baghdati Municipality. The main goal of the Social Inclusion Center is the individual development of children with disabilities and their integration into society. The construction is being carried out with universal design approaches, in compliance with all the legal norms established for the safe and comfortable movement of disabled people.
First Deputy Mayor of Baghdati Municipality Davit Silagadze, Chairman of the City Council Nodar Giorgidze, First Deputy Chairman of the City Council Guram Kiknavelidze, Majority Deputy of Dimi Village Council Gia Sakhamberidze and Head of Department of Economic Development, Relations with International and Local Donor Organizations of Baghdati Municipality Tina Abuladze attended the meeting. The invited guests expressed their support in order to help create decent conditions for the children living in Baghdati municipality included in the service in future.
The guests invited to the meeting were also informed about the new organization Habitat for Equality, Achievement and Development (HEAD) established by EDEC, which will fully take over all existing social services of the Education Development and Employment Center, including the current project in Baghdad Municipality. to the established social inclusion center as well. In addition to current services, Habitat for Equity, Achievement and Development (HEAD) will develop new services based on community needs in the future.
